So what is your expected salary?
Malcolm mentioned something worth noting it down
"Ermm , I think I don't deserve this amount. Probably you will raise to this amount when I have proven to you after my three months"
This is one good tactic. Something new to answer this sensitive question.
My approach would usually weigh other benefits first before I settle down for a final amount. But I always fumble when there are more than one confirmations coming. My "best of both world" approach will always end up me telling each potential player to give me a few days to decide.
And in fact I really cannot decide .
So in the end , I will give a different quote to each player depending on who comes first.
I have been zipping in and out of interviews . And when I was ready to close a deal when the rest of my ideal company did not reply , all of them came back knocking.
And the most important question comes ,
"So What is your expected salary?"
Tsk Tsk..
